East of Mauritius
Large expanses of sandy beaches can be found in Mauritius' eastern coast. This is also the windiest region of the island, with a lovely soft breeze in the summer and a chilly breeze in the winter, beaten by the south-east winds. The magnificent beach at Belle-Mare, the island's longest, the Bras d'Eau forest, golf courses, and Ile aux Cerfs are just a few of the sites to see during your Mauritius vacation.

Activities
The East offers a variety of outdoor activities for nature lovers. You can go kayaking through the mangroves in the conserved lagoon on Ile d'Ambre with guides. Local tour companies also provide boat cruises that include a lunch, a visit to the ruins, and a forest stroll.
Water sports such as parasailing and banana rides are available at Belle Mare beach for individuals who want to stay active.
Inland, the Roches Noires region is rich in volcanic caverns that can be explored with a guide. A natural volcanic cave of 15 meters high and 20 meters wide can be found a short distance away at Pont Bon Dieu. A colony of swifts nests in the cave, and their flights are a real aerial choreography. The neighboring woodlands and sugar cane fields provide a favorable habitat for macaque monkeys, who will almost probably approach tourists.
